Coursing
This button in Masonry Designer controls the coursing and bond pattern of the wall. Some brick sizes are only built in certain bond patterns. For instance, the King size brick are only built in 1/3 bond coursing pattern. From here you can also select Soldier or Header coursings. Click 'Soldier' and click a brick in the wall. It will insert a horizontal row of soldier coursing bricks. Bond pattern and coursing examples below.
The Masonry Designer can build your custom wall in 3 'Bond Patterns':
Running Bond- A masonry bond in which each brick is laid as a stretcher offset by 1/2 a brick per course.
1/3 Bond- A masonry bond in which each brick is laid as a stretcher offset by 1/3 of a brick per course.
Stack Bond- A masonry bond in which bricks are stacked on top of one another, resulting in continuous horizontal edge joints and vertical head joints.
The Masonry Designer can build rows of Soldier and Header courses:
Soldier Course- Bricks are laid standing on end with the narrow edge facing out. This type of course is sometimes used for decorative effects over door and window openings and in fireplace facings.
Header Course- Brick laid flat and perpendicular to the face of the wall.
